In addition to execution, the most successful network implementations are always attributed to the proper amount of planning. An important part of this planning is the input of those who are most affected - the business owners and the users. We work with our clients from the beginning to ensure that the objectives of the network are met during implementation.
Procurement Services
Once the requirements of the network have been determined, we can provide the hardware and software directly or work with you and your preferred vendors to ensure accurate fulfillment of the order. We ensure that everything that is needed is accounted for and acquired at the lowest possible cost. In addition, we will ensure that all licensing is correctly addressed and all warranties are in place and assigned to the client.
Server Room Setup
Prior to the installation of the network components, we can meet with you and plan and coordinate any server room setup considerations. Years of experience in the industry allow us to leverage our knowledge to your advantage. We can assist during the build out of server rooms as well as help plan for future growth. We understand the various considerations to be considered – accessibility, security, cabinets, power, cabling, fire safety, and air conditioning - just to name a few.
Cable Installation
Prior to installation of cabling, we will meet with clients during the planning phase to ensure that all cabling requirements are met as well as future considerations are reviewed and considered. We work closely with third party cable installers to ensure that all cables and connectors are properly installed and tested with a minimal amount of business interruption.
Hardware Setup
We can configure all of the network components in our office prior to delivery or perform all of the work at your office. Whichever way that provides the least interruption to your staff as well as delivers the best end result are the two key considerations. We deliver and configure servers, workstations, and related components. We are Microsoft Gold Certified Partners. Every implementation project is run from a detailed and well executed project plan. We don’t leave anything to chance. We’ve done this thousands of times and know exactly what we’re doing and what the points of failure are to watch out for. This configuration includes installation and configuration of all network interface cards, UPS units, and backup equipment. In addition, system diagnostic routines are always performed to test equipment prior to use.
Network Operating System Installation
We install, configure, and optimize the network operating system onto the server machine(s) and create workstation profiles as needed. We will create all Organizational Units and Group Policy Objects within Active Directory and install and configure the network printing, users, groups and trustee directory assignments. We will ensure the underlying network operating system is optimized and configured to meet your business objectives.
If this project is a conversion from an existing server to a new one or existing workstations to new ones, we work effectively to facilitate the transfer as quickly and seamlessly as possible. We utilize all of the tools at our disposal to ensure an effective and efficient network migration with as little user interruption as possible.
System Installation
After the hardware has been configured and the network operating system has been installed, we work to install, configure, and fine tune all related network components and underlying utility systems. We will ensure that everything is in place to protect the network – like Anti-virus, malware, VPN connections, firewalls, etc. Then we test everything, define the proper procedures, and configure all applications for optimum performance. We install and configure the network backup and UPS’es as well.
Network Customization
FPA does everything necessary to prepare the network for your use before you even sit down to use the systems on the network. We often provide customized procedures, creation of user specific menus, custom login scripts, as well as specific workstation configurations as needed. Much of this can be done through GPO’s to increase the supportability of the network after the initial installation phase.
Network Documentation
As with all of our services, FPA provides complete and detailed network documentation to effectively support the network AFTER it’s been installed. We provide a Network Backup Notebook to help track the backup process. We provide access to our Client WebPortal with all of the client’s network information – ie: users, passwords, hardware inventory, software inventory, licensing, support expirations, etc.
